Cleverfields School came alive with colour, music, and excitement as pupils, staff, and parents gathered to celebrate the 2025 Cultural Day — a vibrant showcase of Nigeria’s rich and diverse cultural heritage.
The event, held on the school grounds, brought together various ethnic groups and traditions from across the country, highlighting the beauty of unity in diversity. Pupils proudly represented their respective cultures through attire, food, dance, music, and drama.
A Celebration of Identity and Heritage
The atmosphere was filled with joy as pupils graced the stage dressed in traditional outfits from different regions — from the elegant agbadas and geles of the Yoruba, to the colourful isiagus and wrappers of the Igbo, and the flowing babanrigas and hijabs of the Hausa-Fulani. Each display was a vivid reminder of Nigeria’s rich cultural tapestry.
Pupils also participated in traditional dances, folktales, and cultural presentations, bringing to life the values and customs that make each ethnic group unique. Parents and guests applauded enthusiastically as the performances blended education with entertainment.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
The 2025 Cultural Day was more than just a fun-filled event—it was a learning experience. Teachers guided pupils through discussions about cultural values, traditions, and respect for diversity, helping them understand the importance of unity, tolerance, and pride in their heritage.
The cultural exhibition stands were another highlight, where pupils showcased local cuisines, traditional crafts, and artifacts, allowing everyone to experience the textures, tastes, and sounds of Nigeria’s many tribes.
Voices from the Event
Speaking at the event, the Head Teacher of Cleverfields School commended the pupils for their creativity and enthusiasm. She emphasized that the Cultural Day celebration reinforces the school’s mission to promote cultural awareness, inclusion, and holistic education.
“Our children learn not only in classrooms but also through experiences that build identity and empathy,” she said. “Celebrating culture helps them appreciate who they are while learning to respect others.”
Unity in Diversity
The day concluded with a parade of cultural groups, symbolizing the spirit of unity that defines both Nigeria and Cleverfields School. The event left lasting memories of pride, joy, and togetherness among pupils, staff, and parents alike.
At Cleverfields School, Cultural Day is more than a celebration — it’s a lesson in love, respect, and national pride.
